The exterior of this build was finished in a classic Land Rover color scheme with the body in Marine Blue paired with traditional steel wheels finished in Limestone. This classic cloak is merely hiding the very modern drivetrain that lies beneath.
This 1960s Series 88 was rebuilt on a custom coil sprung chassis, built on more substantial Defender axles with the addition of performance disc brakes, as well as a modern power steering system. For the powerplant, this client decided to go with the 6.2 LS3 Corvette engine putting out 425hp paired with a five speed manual transmission. A massive departure on all fronts from a drivetrain perspective.
A custom interior was created in a rich chestnut leather with two seats up front with a custom center console discreetly hiding a modern audio package. A modern air conditioning and heating system was added and hidden discreetly behind a custom leather dash. The rear cargo area was finished in handmade teak wood flooring with two bench seats in matching leather and stitch.
From a far this Land Rover Series 88 retains the iconic look it had as it rolled off the factory floor in 1966 but once you get behind the wheel, it is undeniably something very different.
